Circuit Court Caseload Statistics
The following reports provide summary statistical information on Wisconsin circuit court caseload. Questions about the statewide reports can be directed to statistics@wicourts.gov. All reports are in Adobe PDF format.
- A new statistical reporting system was adopted in 2022, which may impact how cases are counted. Caution should be used when comparing pre-2022 data to post-2022 data.
- Blank rows on reports indicate no data for the reporting period. Reports may appear blank if there is no data for any row within a report
- The caseload summary, clearance rate and juvenile caseload summary calculate the "disposed" column differently than all other reports.
- The caseload summary row "criminal traffic" includes all criminal traffic and misdemeanor traffic cases (CM and CT). Felony traffic is included in the "felony" row.
- For additional information regarding JIPS case numbers, please contact us at the contact information above.
- The felony disposition summary report, weapons and explosive category, for 2016 and 2017 does not accurately reflect the number of weapons and explosive cases. This is due to a coding error following 2015 Act 109. Cases affected by Act 109 will be reflected in the other felony case category for 2016 and 2017.
