Access to Justice Commission
A 17-person commission, to which the Supreme Court appoints two lawyers and three non-lawyers. The commission develops and encourages means of expanding access to the civil justice system for unrepresented low income Wisconsin residents. Two of the members must be affiliated with a Wisconsin organization that provides legal services to low-income persons and that is funded by the Legal Services Corporation; and two of the members must be affiliated with a Wisconsin organization that provides legal services to low-income persons and that is not funded by the Legal Services Corporation. The term of a member is three years.
