Judge Patrick F. O’Melia retired from the Oneida County Circuit Court on Aug. 1. O’Melia has spent 35 years serving Oneida County. He was first appointed to the bench in 2007 by then-Gov. Jim Doyle. He had previously served as district attorney, assistant district attorney and assistant corporation counsel for Oneida County.

“It has been my honor and privilege to serve the people of Oneida County since 1987,” O’Melia said in his letter announcing his retirement.

“My commitment to public service to the State of Wisconsin over the past 35 years will never fade away, as it has been a rewarding experience beyond all measure. Although I am closing this chapter of my career, I remain open to different ways to be of service to the State of Wisconsin, including assistance as a reserve judge.”
