Hon. Willis J. Zick
Waukesha County Circuit Court

The Honorable Willis J. Zick, who passed away on August 18, 2024, left a lasting mark on the Wisconsin Court System after his nearly 15-year tenure as a Waukesha County Circuit Court judge and his subsequent two decades of continued legal work. Elected in 1979, Zick was known for his intellect and fairness on the bench.

Judge Zick’s influence extended beyond his time as a judge, as he became a mediator and arbitrator after his retirement in 1994, where he was known for his ability to handle people with both kindness and authority. Zick, according to one attorney, “had a real smooth way of handling people, and being the grandfatherly type and a former judge, he automatically commands respect.”

Zick’s legacy as a caring and unique advocate for justice ensures his contributions will be felt for generations to come.
