In a changing of the guard that happens every two years during the group’s fall conference, the Wisconsin Clerks of Circuit Court Association (WCCCA) elected Rebecca Matoska-Mentink to lead the WCCCA as its president for 2025-2026.
When Matoska-Mentink begins her presidency on January 1st, she will also mark 18 years as the elected Clerk of Court for Kenosha County. An active member of her community, Matoska-Mentink was honored early this year with the Susan B. Anthony Women of Influence Lifetime Achievement Award. Within the WCCCA, she currently serves as vice president and is an active member of the WCCCA Legislative and Executive Committees.
As WCCCA president, Matoska-Mentink will lead a team of officers that includes newly-elected vice president Katie Schalley of Dunn County, treasurer Monica Paz of Waukesha County, and secretary Kimberly Stimac of Wood County. The new officer team takes the reigns from outgoing officers Stacy Kleist of Richland County (president), Katie Schalley (treasurer), and Brenda Behrle of Oneida County (secretary).
The Clerks of Court also honored one of their own, retiring Eau Claire County Clerk of Court Susan Schaffer. Schaffer’s career with Eau Claire County spans 24 years. She was elected Clerk of Court in 2014 for a term that began in January of 2015, 15 years after she first joined the Court as its services coordinator. Cherie Norberg has been appointed to serve the remainder of Schaffer’s term.
