Waukesha County Circuit Court
Bridget Schoenborn has been appointed to the Waukesha County Circuit Court – Branch 4 bench. Schoenborn fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Lloyd V. Carter, with her term set to run through July 31, 2025.
Schoenborn's legal career began in 2005 as a judicial law clerk in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Over the years, she has garnered extensive experience, notably serving as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Department of Justice. During her tenure, Schoenborn prosecuted cases ranging from complex narcotics offenses to financial crimes. Her dedication and excellence in her field were recognized with numerous awards, including Federal Prosecutor of the Year.
Governor Evers expressed his confidence in Schoenborn, stating, "Bridget Schoenborn is a respected attorney who brings a breadth and depth of experience to the bench. She will be an excellent judge for the people of Waukesha County."
Reflecting on her appointment, Schoenborn expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue her public service. "It is such a great honor to follow Judge Lloyd Carter as the sitting judge in Waukesha County Circuit Court – Branch 4," she said. "I pledge to support the constitutions of the United States and the State of Wisconsin, administer justice fairly and equally, and treat everyone who appears in my courtroom with dignity and respect."

Ozaukee County Circuit Court
A long-time prosecutor will be moving offices in the Ozaukee County courthouse. On May 24, Governor Evers announced he had appointed Adam Gerol to the Ozaukee County Circuit Court – Branch 1. Gerol will serve a term that runs until July 31, 2025, following the retirement of Judge Paul V. Malloy.
Gerol brings a wealth of legal experience to his new role. He has served as the Ozaukee County District Attorney since 2009, having been appointed by former Governor Doyle and re-elected three times. Before his tenure as district attorney, Gerol held positions as an assistant district attorney in both Milwaukee and Ozaukee Counties, worked in the criminal litigation division of the Wisconsin Department of Justice, and practiced business and healthcare litigation in Southeast Wisconsin.
Governor Evers praised Gerol's extensive record of public service, noting his experience and commitment to serving his community. Expressing gratitude for his appointment, Gerol emphasized his commitment to upholding justice and serving all stakeholders in the justice system. "I am committed to working collaboratively with all of our justice system partners to ensure a fair and efficient court that adheres to the highest principles of justice," remarked Gerol.
In conjunction with Gerol's appointment, Governor Evers announced the commencement of the application process for the Ozaukee County District Attorney position. Interested individuals are invited to submit their applications by June 14, 2024, to GovDAapp@wisconsin.gov.
