Students from across Wisconsin recently engaged in a lively discussion with Justice Janet Protasiewicz as part of the Court with Class program. The program, a collaboration between the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the State Bar of Wisconsin, offers a unique opportunity for students to gain firsthand knowledge of the judicial process and engage directly with legal professionals.

Court with Class invites high school teachers statewide to bring students to Madison for an immersive educational experience. Participants develop a deeper understanding of the Supreme Court's role in interpreting the law and resolving disputes in a fair and impartial manner.

Since its inception in 1996, Court with Class has allowed thousands of students to witness oral arguments live in the Supreme Court Hearing Room and meet with a Supreme Court justice. Prior to their visit, students receive plain-language case summaries to aid their understanding of the legal issues at hand. During oral arguments, they observe lawyers presenting their cases while being questioned by justices. Following the session, students engage in discussions with a justice, gaining insights into the judiciary's role and the decision-making process.
