The highly anticipated Technology & the Bench Seminar, hosted by the Wisconsin Court System's Office of Judicial Education, took place on June 13th-14th, 2024, at the Madison Concourse Hotel. This event brought together esteemed legal professionals, technology experts, and judicial officials to delve into the intricate intersection of technology and the judiciary.

The seminar commenced with a warm welcome and administrative remarks, setting the tone for two days of insightful discussions and presentations. Atty. Morgan Young, Director of the Office of Judicial Education, along with Hon. James Babler and Hon. Benjamin Lane, co-chairs of the seminar, spearheaded the event's organization.

Throughout the event, attendees had the opportunity to participate in various breakout sessions tailored to their interests and expertise. These sessions covered many topics, including Westlaw's AI resources, digital evidence, software tips and tricks, and ethical considerations surrounding AI in legal research.

One of the highlights of the seminar was the engaging session titled "An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Implications for the Judiciary." The discussion gave attendees a comprehensive understanding of how artificial intelligence reshapes the legal landscape and its implications for judicial processes.

Additionally, the seminar addressed contemporary issues, such as the risks and dangers of social media, presented by Steven Bradley, a renowned safety and technology expert. Atty. Andrew Phillips further explored the constitutionals dimensions of social media usage in the legal profession, shedding light on best practices and potential pitfalls.
