Judicial district trainings offered on sex trafficking cases

The Office of Court Operations and the Children’s Court Improvement Program (CCIP) are sponsoring a one-day training designed to improve judicial understanding and decision-making related to sex trafficking of children and adults.

Subject matter experts will present information on the following topics: dynamics of sex trafficking, investigation and prosecution, sextortion and internet crimes, and the impact on indigenous communities.

Registration is open to circuit court and tribal judges, reserve judges, and circuit court commissioners. In-person attendance is the only option. In an effort to promote participation, the same training will be offered in five locations throughout the state:

  • Sept. 7: Wisconsin Dells
  • Sept. 8: Pewaukee
  • Oct. 4: Stevens Point
  • Oct. 6: Oshkosh
  • Oct. 19: Hayward

Registration is required using the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2023districttraining. Questions can be directed to the appropriate District Court Administrator, CCIP Directory Bridget Mauerman, or Amber Peterson, Office of Court Operations.
