Ninth Judicial District welcomes new District Court Administrator

Sandra La Du has been appointed as the new District Court Administrator (DCA) for the Ninth Judicial District. With more than 25 years of experience in the criminal justice system, including 11 years as Marathon County Jail Administrator, La Du brings a wealth of leadership and expertise to her new role.

As District Court Administrator, La Du will oversee administrative functions across the district, including caseload management and policy implementation, and act as a key liaison between the courts and county officials.

Deputy Director of State Courts Holly Szablewski expressed confidence in La Du's leadership, stating, "We are very excited to welcome Sandra to the DCA team. Her 11 years of experience serving as the Marathon County Jail Administrator will serve her well in the DCA role."

In her previous position, La Du managed a $9 million budget, oversaw 70 staff members, and represented the Sheriff at meetings and conferences. She also served as a liaison to the Marathon County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and played an active role in Evidence-Based Decision Making initiatives.

La Du holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Upper Iowa University and two Associate of Applied Science degrees in Business Management and Police Science from Nicolet Area Technical College.

La Du's first day on the job was January 13. She replaces former District Court Administrator Susan Byrnes, who retired in September following a 40-year career in the Wisconsin Court System.
