Hon. Michael J. Byron

Former Rock County Circuit Court Judge Michael J. Byron passed away on October 29 at the age of 81.
Byron was first appointed to the Branch 3 bench in 1991 by former Governor Tommy Thompson, and won elections in 1992 and 1998. After his retirement in 2008, he continued to serve as a reserve judge. While on the bench, he served as the chair of the Rock County Security and Facilities Committee. He had previously worked in private practice and as an assistant district attorney for Rock County.
Byron is survived by his wife, three children, and five grandchildren.
