Seasoned professional named new Seventh District Court Administrator

Anya Crossland has been named the seventh district's new District Court Administrator. In this role, she will analyze, recommend, and implement court management policies and procedures for the district, which serves 15 counties. Crossland brings 17 years of experience in public service, including public sector/court administration, fiscal management, employee and labor relations, policy development, and strategic planning.

Crossland's professional profile highlights her court administration skills and competencies, including effective decision-making, employee and labor relations, recruitment, retention, performance evaluation, conflict competence, and program development initiatives implementation and tracking. She has earned a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Eastern Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Colorado State University, and boasts several professional certifications.

In her previous role as Deputy Court Administrator for Clark County District Court in Vancouver, WA, Crossland oversaw 116 agency employees over three divisions and acted on behalf of the Court Administrator during the Administrator's absence. Crossland's previous experience also includes serving as Judicial Operations Division Manager for six years, where she managed comprehensive employee relations and led court operations through COVID-related closures and transition to virtual hearings. Before that, she served as a Judicial Assistant for seven years.

"Anya's qualifications, experience, and leadership skills make her an ideal candidate for the role of District Court Administrator for the seventh district," said Holly Szablewski, the Deputy Director of State Courts. "We are thrilled to welcome her to the team and look forward to her contributions towards our future success."

Crossland's first day on the job was April 15. In her personal time, she is an avid traveler and loves discovering new areas, cultures and cuisines. She is also a huge music fan and enjoys attending concerts and events. Moving to Wisconsin with her two dogs, Steve and Lionel, Crossland is excited to explore the region and meet new people.

The District Court Administrator position became available following the retirement of Patrick Brummond, who had held the role for more than thirty years.
