The Children's Court Improvement Program (CCIP) today launched the E-Learning Project -- an online, self-directed educational resource to assist in the processing of child welfare cases. The website is available around the clock to court officials, social workers, attorneys and anyone else interested in improving understanding about key court proceedings, statutory requirements, applicable case law, and best practices involved in child welfare cases. 09/19/13 Supreme Court celebrates 20 years of 'Justice on Wheels' with historic hearings in Sheboygan
This fall, for the first time in its history, the Wisconsin Supreme Court will sit in Sheboygan, hearing two cases on Thursday, Oct. 3 in the Branch I courtroom of the Sheboygan County Courthouse, 615 N. 6th St., Sheboygan. The visit marks the 20th anniversary of the Court's 'Justice on Wheels' program that brings oral argument to communities across Wisconsin. Read more.

07/15/13 Strong, coordinated efforts bring Milwaukee courts back on line after fire
A July 6 fire in an electrical closet in the basement of the Milwaukee County Courthouse created a mess by knocking out power and causing extensive smoke and odor damage throughout the building. The courthouse was closed for a week, computer networks, including those that sustain court case management systems, were knocked offline, and judges were left without functioning courtrooms as cleanup got underway. Thanks to a disaster at the Milwaukee County Courthouse, Chief Judge Jeffrey A. Kremers can add another title to his resume after 21 years on the bench: emergency wedding planner. As reported by Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson, who witnessed recent events unfold, Kremers sprang to action when a bride-to-be showed up with her prospective groom and numerous family members at the Milwaukee County Criminal Justice Building around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10. 06/28/13 Wisconsin Supreme Court selects chief judges
The Wisconsin Supreme Court announced today that it has selected a judge from Rock County Circuit Court and a judge who serves both Buffalo and Pepin county circuit courts as new members of the Committee of Chief Judges, effective Aug. 1. The Court also re-appointed judges from Milwaukee, Fond du Lac and St. Croix counties to continue serving on the committee, and it re-appointed Chief Judge Richard Brown, District II Court of Appeals, to continue serving as chief judge of the Court of Appeals.
