Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson will present the 2009 State of the Judiciary Address on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 9 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Milwaukee. The Chief’s speech opens the 2009 Meeting of the Wisconsin Judicial Conference, a gathering of most of the state’s circuit and appellate court judges.

The address, titled What Opportunity Looks Like, will highlight eight justice-related initiatives undertaken in counties across Wisconsin during the past year. Director of State Courts A. John Voelker will give the annual State of the Director’s Office presentation immediately following the Chief Justice’s speech.

Both speeches will be available on the Wisconsin court system Web site, www.wicourts.gov, by noon on Wednesday. Media are welcome to cover these presentations.
